This is my 1993 Defender 90 200 Tdi a work in progress.
It started life as a farmers hack in Ireland as a red van but has morphed into my blue dream.
I have made great use of the Ebay parts bin over the years and has some very essential shiny bits (the hardest bit about the build was to convince the kitchen woman about the necessity of all this).
I have added a two inch lift and bigger (285/75/16) tyres on Disco alloys which I had colour matched to the Mazda blue paintwork . Inside I have added two leather discovery seats, which makes things a lot more civilised. At the back there are now side windows and forward facing seats for the kids. Outside I have put on some rock sliders to protect the body work and a few extra lights to give the standard lights a bit of help.
Recently I have opened up the fuel pump which has really been one of the best modifications I have done to this vehicle as it has greatly added to the driveability without any detriment to the fuel economy.
Repairs have had to be started this year with new footwells, outriggers and a heavy duty rear cross member to be fitted. When this is all reattached the next step will be to delve into the electrics which at the moment are very intermittent.
As this is my everyday car that I use for getting to work I have added protective guards to the parts underneath, because I use my Defender every day I tend to avoid the potential damage at the quarries but really enjoy the green lanes and the shows.
