2011 saw the first Convoy For Heroes in aid of the charity Help for Heroes Loughborough LRC were there to lend a hand.........
The 2011 Convoy for Heroes event was going to be a learning curve for everyone involved, though we did have a slight advantage in that our Chairman works on the JLR test track where the convoy was to be held. That said we had still volunteered to do the biggest logistical part of the day via only a few emails/phone calls to complete strangers!
Once we arrived at Gaydon on the Saturday we could see what we had got to do and how we had to do it. We basically had to park 350 Land Rovers in ferry lanes ready to start the convoy, we decided Sunday needed to be an early start to get the lanes marked out and start parking vehicles up. Well I don't really know what all the fuss was about I really don't! Below is the picture of our hard work every vehicle parked up ready for the off.
