Petanque - A Club Social Evening

E-mail Print

One summers evening in late June saw our return to the White hart in Quorn for another evening of “Psycho Marbles”.

We managed enough member and friends to field 4 teams with subs. As per usual there was much heckling from the sides and far too much attention to detail when it came to measuring the distances to find the winner - tape measures at the ready!!

The White Hart was under new management and for some reason were rather reluctant to provide a bar-b-q for us to use – not quite sure why we did tell them that Birdie wouldn’t be there!! However the food provided was excellent and we were even provided with entertainment from certain members. Not quite sure what the drink drive rules are regarding a mobility scooter and the cornering was also a bit dodgy but rest assured not a drop of alcohol was spilt in the process and no –one was injured (I think)

The play continued well into the evening and a good time was had by all.

Many thanks to the White Hart for the excellent food and the free use of the Petanque Courts and to Anne Leake for the use of her scooter!!!
